Paying my dues
I've been unpardonably slow in acknowledging the people who not only helped me to keep going, but also made the journey even more interesting. One of the most novel ideas came from Jerome Eberharter.
He is the enthusiastic and ingenious boss of the White Cloud coffee company in Boise, Idaho.
As well as helping with the odd dollop of dosh, he had this brilliant notion of sending coffee to anyone who I thought deserved it along the way.
I obviously couldn't explain at the time what Jerome was doing, in case people who didn't get coffee thought they weren't appreciated.
Sometimes I forgot to send their names to Jerome. At other times I am sure the coffee just never got there. (Imagine trying to mail a pound of coffee to Libya or Zimbabwe!) And then there were places where it would be just plain silly to send coffee. Think Brasil, Colombia, Kenya, Ethiopia, etc).
To this day I have no idea who got it, and who didn't. But it was a really lovely thought. So thank you, Jerome. I hope you enjoyed the journey.
Oh, and by the way, I don't have to say this, but it is really good coffee. The details are on the sponsor page.
