June 11th : Clermont l'Herault

Clermont is like a county town, and market day is every Wednesday. This is where people sit with a beer or a Ricard, after wandering around the market stalls.

The area where I once lived has seen another huge influx of buyers, mostly British, and prices are now so outrageous that for me to come back here would be impossible.
Much has changed. New roads have brought it within commuting distance of the city. The old life I once knew has gone.
But going to market to buy fruit and vegetables, and bread, and charcuterie, is still a fine way to spend a morning.
