When I rode from the station into Atbara in 1973 on the Triumph I was following a Dutch couple in a taxi. We had asked to be taken to a hotel, and we came to this sequence of elegant (relatively) brick arches. I remembered it very well, and hoped to find it again, but was told it had all been demolished. I wonder why. I saw nothing so well built this time.
